Listaa has made his name as one of the most respected artists to come out of North East in recent years, with solid projects like ‘PiSC3S’ and ‘Calm’ making him a leading name in Sunderland’s hip-hop and grime scene. However, the SR5 spitter’s releases have been sporadic in 2019, leaving us wanting more much more from him.
Surprisingly Listaa’s output has spiked over the past week, dropping two tracks out of the blue. His brand new single “Showtime” debuted on BBC Introducing in the North East, followed up by a remix of drill superstar Headie One‘s hit single “Both” being dropped on Facebook.
“Showtime” is Listaa back on top form and definitely would have scooped Track of the Week had it been widely released. Hopefully it’ll be up to stream very soon. In the meantime we can sink our teeth into this remix. A hard beat to tackle, Listaa takes the track on a deeper lyrical direction than the original, rapping about expanding your mind through education, drug abuse and overcoming obstacles that get in the way of self progression.
Fingers crossed these releases are a sign of a Listaa teeing up a big 2020, but for now enjoy the bags of ability on show from the king of SR5 on this unique remix.
